Hazelburn 15 Year Old Oloroso Cask

An unpeated 2008 Hazelburn single malt, released in early 2023, that was matured exclusively in oloroso sherry casks for 15 years, before being bottled in November 2023. The nose brings aromas of sea salt, dried fruits, raisins, dates and a rich earthiness, complemented by notes of liquorice, ginger, prunes, sticky caramel and vanilla on the palate. Lingering hints of Black Forest Gateau and brambles build in the finish.

Tasting Notes

NOSE
Light and delicate aroma. Subtle notes of dried fruits and vanilla. Time reveals the richness of apricots and dates. A layer of nuttiness also emerges.

PALATE
Full-bodied and rich. Decadent, succulent honey flavors that intertwine gracefully with a bounty of raisins. Fresh notes of herbs and cut grass add earthy tones.

FINISH
Medium to long. Swirls of caramel and sweetness ice cream. Add a backdrop of green notes and sugary malt.
