Ardbeg Scorch Feis Ile 2021

Islay's Ardbeg Distillery has gone and aged bottled up some excellent single malt which has been matured in its most heavily charred casks, and appropriately dubbed it Ardbeg Scorch for Feis Ile 2021. Almost makes you wonder if they've got a dragon there at the distillery, burninating those casks to get them so intensely charred... Expect robust helpings of smoke and spice from this one.

Tasting Notes

NOSE
Roasted barley and bonfire smoke, with a hint of clove to it later on.

PALATE
Soot, salty liquorice, a hint of toasted brown sugar adds welcome sweetness.

FINISH
A long, richly smoky finish.
